If you are a registered voter of Louisiana who has been displaced by Hurricane Katrina or Rita, you are still eligible to vote in your home parish if you have not registered to vote in another parish or state.

REGISTERING TO VOTE

There are two ways to register to vote:

• In person at the Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters Office, which is located at New Orleans City Hall 1300 Perdido Street, Room 1W23, New

Orleans, LA. 70112-2117.

• By mail with a Louisiana Mail Voter Registration Application Form 110.

VOTING

There are three ways to vote in the New Orleans’ primary election April 22, 2006 and the general election May 20, 2006:

• Absentee by Mail………………….
  The Absentee Ballot by Mail request and Displaced Voter Affidavit must be returned to the Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters office at City Hall, 1300 Perdido Street, Room 1W23, New Orleans, Louisiana 70112-2117 no later than April 18. An absentee ballot will then be mailed to you. Your completed Absentee Ballot must be received at the Registrar of Voters Office no later than April 21.

• Early voting in person in the Registrar of Voters Office…………
  Early voting will take place 8:30-4:30 Monday through Thursday April 10-13 and 8:30-4:30 on Saturday April 15 at the offices of the Registrar of Voters in the parishes of Orleans, Caddo, Calcasieu, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Lafayette, Orleans, Ouachita, Rapides, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Terrebonne.

• In person at the polling place on Election Day………..
  Due to Hurricane Katrina polling sites have been consolidated. Use the Where to Vote Locator to find out where to vote on Election Day.
